Autoblog je napisal/-a:Mama Mia! Fiat Group production schedule leaked

Posted Nov 10th 2006 10:30AM by Noah Joseph
Someone's bound to get in trouble for this, 'cause this is not a document that should have hit the internet. But since it has, we're glad to bring it to you. It was apparently prepared for a conference of Fiat Group investors held over the last couple of days.

A few weeks ago, we brought you the anticipated release dates through 2008 for Fiat, Lancia and Alfa Romeo. This leaked document, however, gives us the release dates for Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Fiat commercial vehicles straight through 2010. The chart shows the dates for a total of 23 new models plus another 23 facelifts.

2009 will be a really big year for Alfa Romeo, with facelifted versions of the gorgeous Brera/Spider/159 line-up (already arguably the best-looking cars money can buy) hitting the market the same year as the new 169 and 149 (labeled "future c-segment"). Sadly, though the Maserati logo features on the top-right corner of the page, that division's production schedule is not included, nor is Ferrari's for that matter.

Click on the the chart above for all the juicy Italian details.

Zelo zanimivo in nazorno.

Friday, October 13, 2006
I've just got my hands on anupdated list (official) of the Fiat Group's product plan for the 2007-2009 period. The dates shown bellow don't concern the official unveiling but the actual date that they'll go on sale in Europe. Among others, we see that the first models in the group to get Fiat's new 1.4 Turbo engine (available in two versions with 120 & 150 Hp) will be the Alfa 147 & the Fiat Grande Punto next summer.

As for brand new models, we see that although Alfa's 147 successor, the 149 will be delayed till 2009 (!), the Italian brand will make up for it with the Junior, a niche model aimed to compete against BMW Group's Mini.

Fiat on its part, will hit the market with two new models, the Bravo & the Linea (I'll get back on the last one, cause I'm not sure which model it is) in 2007, while its long awaited mini, the 500 will go on sale early 2008 along with Lancia's most important model, the production version of the Delta HPE Concept

MODEL - ON SALE

Alfa Romeo 147 1.4 Turbo (120 & 150Hp) - July / August 2007
Alfa Romeo 149 - Mid 2009
Alfa Romeo 159 Ti - Feburary / March 2007
Alfa Romeo GT VELOCE (special version) - January 2007
Alfa Romeo Junior - Mid 2008

Fiat 500 - January 2008
Fiat Bravo - August / September 2007
Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 Turbo (120-150 ps) - June / July 2007
Fiat Linea - October-September 2007

Lancia Delta - Early 2008
Lancia MUSA Facelift - September / October 2007
Lancia Ypsilon Sport - May / June 2007

Ne mislil sem za Abarth verzije.

V času Bravota se je pri nas na začetku težko dobilo HGT, še težje pa GT.

nekaj o novih motorjih v guglovem prevodu iz nem v ang. Orig. text tu
http://www.automotorundsport.de/news/au ... 131895.htm

Fiat: Small turbo and double clutch. The Italian automaker Fiat gave a view now on coming drive components. In development are turbo- Benziner, turbo-Diesels, a new V6-Generation as well as a double clutch transmission. The Italians with 0.9 litres a large turbo- Benziner with “multi-air” approach the topic Downsizing - injection. The achievement yield is to be thereby between 90 and 110 HP. The multi-air technology works at the valve gear with electrohydraulical actuators, which make the use of cam shafts redundant. Fiat promises opposite conventional engines by ten per cent increased a torque and an improved responsing mode, during simultaneous consumption reduction by ten per cent. Besides the emission values are to be halved. First this aggregate in the new Fiat 500 is used and later then in the new Panda.

New is also a 1,8-Liter-Benzindirekteinspritzer with four cylinders and a power spectrum from 190 to 230 HP. Particularly of the Alfa fans sehnsüchtigst expected is a new V6-Benziner-Generation, which is to make the current generation inherited by Holden GM forgotten. The new engines are to begin with 3,0 up to 3,5 litres capacity and make available between 250 and 350 HP. As golden middle course between automated transmissions and mechanism switching boxes now also Fiat constituted the double clutch transmission, which is to draw in the future surface covering into the model pallet.

še nekaj malega o Fiatovih načrtih

FIAT

During the Fiat Group Investor Presentation held at Lingotto yesterday, Fiat CEO Luca De Meo promised a very bright future for the brand and outlined a swage of exciting new models which are due to hit the roads during the next four years.

Already well trailed, next year Fiat will introduce three significant and strategic new models: the 500, Linea and Bravo. The first to arrive on the market will be the Bravo which is set to be presented to the press in Rome on 29th January just weeks before going on sale. With significant sales targets Fiat are confident that this car can make an impact in the C-segment and replicate the runaway success that the Grande Punto has already achieved in its first year on sale. With its svelte lines and practical 5-door architecture, the new Bravo will replace the Stilo and will also aim for a higher profit per unit than its predecessor managed.

Likewise the new 500 is destined to be a hit, and Fiat hope it can emulate the results BMW achieved when they re-launched the Mini. The 500 will also offer strong margins. Interest for this future model for the under 30 aged group has been staggering, and the dedicated Fiat 500 website has received a record amount of visitors. As De Meo enthusiastically pointed out, it is more visited than the new Nike football website. An international design competition to design lifestyle articles around the Fiat 500 has also been a major hit, with over 1,500 entries from designers around the world including America and Japan.

The third all-new model in 2007 will be the C-segment Linea saloon. Destined to be built in Turkey, Brazil, Russia, India and China it will also be sold on Western European markets. The Linea was introduced recently at the Istanbul Motor Show to a positive audience; the car building on the styling formula introduced by the Grande Punto.

Next year will also see a "Model Year" Grande Punto launched as Fiat strive with plans to refresh all their models regularly and reduce product lifecycles. The Grande Punto was launched last autumn. The Grande Punto MY is currently being shown to dealers in Turin and includes revisions to the interior and exterior trims. Alongside this model will come a Grande Punto Abarth as Fiat re-launches the famous tuning brand, promising to build high-performance models that will effectively recreate the Abarth philosophy. Two Abarth versions are set to arrive next year, both using turbocharged engines. The most potent of these, currently dubbed the Brutale, will be a limited production all-wheel-drive road and rally machine, comparable to the legendary Lancia Delta Integrale of old. Finally in 2007 the Croma will recieve a facelift that will seek to give the Giorgetto Giugiaro-styled 'station wagon' a more distinctive appearance.

In 2008 Fiat will launch one all-new model and six facelifts or Model Year cars. The new model in question will be the Minicargo Panorama, a passenger-carrying version of the new LCV "Minicargo" currently being developed by Tofas in Turkey.

FIAT MILLE
Slika
The Fiat Uno is still a hugely popular entry-level model in South America. In Brazil last month, where it is built at Fiat's Betim plant, it was the fourth best seller in its segment, behind the Fiat Palio, VW Gol and Chevrolet Celta, all of which are important market models.

FIAT GRANDE PUNTO DYNAMIC
Slika
Next year will see a new "Model Year" Grande Punto launched as Fiat strive to refresh all their models regularly and reduce product lifecycles. The Grande Punto will receive a full facelift in 2008.

FIAT LINEA
Slika
Destined to be built in Turkey, Brazil, Russia, India and China the Fiat Linea will also be sold on Western European markets from 2007. Above: the Linea during its public debut at this month's Istanbul Auto Show. Photo: Photo: Serdar Aytamaner.

FIAT 500
Slika
The new Fiat 500 is destined to be a hit, and Fiat hope it can emulate the results BMW achieved when they recently re-launched the Mini. Within the four-year timescale of the presentation the 500 will be joined by performance (Abarth) and convertible versions.

PSA are a partner in the project, so Minicargo - which will be built at Bursa - is set to also be restyled and badged as a Peugeot and Citroën. The Grande Punto will receive a full facelift in 2008 as will the previous Punto model. Still selling well the Punto is an effective B-segment "entry level" model and Fiat want to remain a player in this sector. The Punto is built under licence in Serbia by Zastava who have been struggling to cope with demand and the refreshed Punto is expected to be built in further countries eventually. Model Year versions of the Panda, Multipla and Idea are all set to be launched, while the Abarth "family" will double with the arrival of a hot 500 model.

The penultimate year of the four-year outline (2009) will see three important new Fiat branded models arriving: the new B-segment compact, new Doblò Panorama and C-segment Crossover, the latter described by Luca De Meo as a ground breaking new vehicle, fusing the practicality of an MPV with the character and style of an SUV. The first is very interesting as Fiat are looking to build a new cost-effective, low-B-segment model which will recreate the spirit of the 1980s Uno model. The Uno in fact is still a hugely popular entry-level model in South America. In Brazil last month, where it is built at Fiat's Betim plant, it was the fourth best seller in its segment, behind the Fiat Palio, VW Gol and Chevrolet Celta, all of which are important models. Fiat Auto South Africa are also set to reintroduce the Uno, which is now known as the "Mille" in 2007 as they capitalise on strong African demand for cheap and basic cars. Fiat Automòveis will lead development of the new B-segment model.

2009 will also see a new crossover arriving as well as a passenger carrying version of the new Doblò. The Doblò range was facelifted last autumn and it immediately won the prestigious "Van of the Year" title; the new model will also be developed and built by Tofas in Turkey. As Fiat seek to build on the success it has had with niche versions of the Panda, the second version of the 500 to hit the market will be a convertible. Finally a facelifted Sedici will also be launched.

The last year of the plan (2010) will see a the next-generation A-segment Panda launched, along with a second body style for the new low-B-segment model (in the format of the Idea) and also a new station wagon version of the Bravo. At the same time there will be facelifted versions of the Bravo and Linea, and Model Year versions of the 500 and Croma.

ALFA ROMEO
During the far reaching Fiat Auto Investor Presentation today at Lingotto Alfa Romeo outlined in some detail its forthcoming model plans, confirming that a new small car, codenamed "Junior", a new crossover, the "CXover", and the large sporty sedan, the Alfa 169 are all in the development pipeline.

The Alfa Romeo presentation initially focused on the new Alfa 159, emphasising that its perception as a "premium" product since it arrived on the market a year ago is much higher than was ever achieved by the Alfa 156, the popular model it replaced last year. With its average price up 13 percent it is able to support a higher list price and offer a wider range and great mix of models. Residual values have improved, in Italy the 159 has a residual value of 53.0 pct compared to 40.8 pct for the 156. In Germany the story is similar: the 159 has a value of 47 pct, as opposed to the 156's 38 pct.

Analysing its customers Alfa Romeo see that the audience is currently split between younger drivers and older "Alfisti" (so called "empty nesters"). The C-segment Alfa 147 appeals primarily to the 25-37 year old age range; the GT Coupe to the 34-45 range; while the new breed of models attract slightly older buyers, the Brera and Spider (34-45) and the Alfa 159 (45-55). Of concern to Alfa Romeo is their lack of penetration in the area of young families (with children) and this is an immediate priority to the brand to rectify. At present the home Italian market accounts for 45.6 percent of the brand's sales, with the four major European Union (EU) markets (France, Germany, the UK and Spain) taking 29.0 pct of total sales. The remaining EU member nations absorb 18.1 pct of registrations, while Japan takes 2.5 pct.

With a highly ambitious target of 300,000 unit sales by 2010 being set by Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne, Alfa Romeo will look to broaden the age range it targets.

ALFA CXOVER
Slika
The CXover, say Alfa Romeo, will be "a sporty crossover in between an SUV and a coupé. Around 4.6 metres in length its price will range from 28-45,000 euros. Above: sketch of the CXover as part of the presentation today.

ALFA 159 JTS
Slika
The Alfa Romeo presentation initially focused on the new Alfa 159, emphasising that its perception as a "premium" product since it arrived on the market a year ago is much higher than was ever achieved by the Alfa 156, the popular model it replaced last year.

ALFA ROMEO JUNIOR
Slika
Alfa Romeo describe the Junior in the presentation as an "innovative concept of a 3-door sporty car", just under 4 metres long and priced at 16,000 euros. It will arrive on the market during the second quarter of 2008. Above: sketch of the Junior as part of the presentation today.

ALFA 169
Slika
The Alfa 169, a large premium and sporty sedan will replace the Alfa 166; it will be over 4.9 metres long and priced between 40 and 55,000 euros. Above: sketch of the Alfa 169 as part of the presentation today.

By 2010 it will be able to cover the 18 to over 55 age range with new products effectively targeted at each age group. The forthcoming Grande Punto based B-segment model, codenamed "Junior", will be positioned firmly against the 18-30 age group; the C-segment replacement for the Alfa 147, due in the first quarter of 2009 will push itself up the premium ladder, targeting the 27-40 age group; the Alfa 159 will broaden slightly to target the 43-55 age group; and the Brera/Spider, the 37-55 age range. These will be joined in the first quarter of 2010 by the CXover which will be positioned towards 34-48 year olds.

The most interesting new model announcement during the presentation was that of the new B-segment car, codename "Junior", a spiritual successor to the must-loved Alfasud, itself a model that changed the face of Alfa Romeo forever when it arrived in the early 1970s. Senior management today believe that by giving the green light to the "Junior" they can recreate the magic of the Alfasud and build an evocative car, fused with the passion of the brand. Alfa Romeo describe the Junior in the presentation as an "innovative concept of a 3-door sporty car", just under 4 metres long and priced at 16,000 euros. It will arrive on the European markets in the second quarter of 2008.

The second model to tackle a brand new segment for Alfa Romeo will be the "CXover", due to reach the market in the first quarter of 2010. This car, say Alfa Romeo, will be "a sporty crossover in between an SUV and a coupé. Around 4.6 metres in length its price will range from 28-45,000 euros. The third model in the period to 2010 will be the Alfa 169, a large premium and sporty sedan which will replace the Alfa 166; it will be over 4.9 metres long and priced between 40 and 55,000 euros. Due to arrive in the second quarter of 2009, it will target the over 55 age group.

ALFA ROMEO OUTLINES ITS PLANS FOR THE EUROPEAN AND US MARKETS

Alfa Romeo was the close focus of attention during the Fiat Auto Investor Presentation at Lingotto in Turin today with bold plans outlined for the US re-launch in 2009 which will follow a turnaround plan that is being rolled out across Europe.

With the brand's sales expected to reach 160,000 units in 2006 this will be a pleasing 17 percent up on 2005's total of 137,000 units. Out of this mix this year comes a 27 percent rise in the more profitable retail sales, and the opening of prestigious new metropolitan dealerships in London and Brussels. On top of this comes news of a deal with Inchcape that will see four new showrooms opened in the Paris area during 2007-08. In fact 46 new dealerships are currently on their way across Europe. Alfa Romeo are targeting sales of around 190,000 units by the end of 2008 with the thrust of the new models set to arrive the next year raising sales to close to 265,000 units by the end of 2009 and 325,000 in 2010, comfortably above Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne's stated target of 300,000 units.

Alfa Romeo's UK turnaround plan is to be rolled out across Europe

The presentation today focused in a big part on the UK market where a top-to-bottom overhaul of the network is being implemented. Referencing the 80,000 units per annum that Audi and Mercedes-Benz, and the 110,000 units by BMW, achieved in the UK. With "emotionally strong branding", plus "visual and design appeal," Alfa Romeo firmly believe they are "the only alternative to the German brands." Their UK target is set for 35,000 units per annum by 2010, and to get into the JD Power customer satisfaction survey top 5. The UK turnaround plan has initially involved 60 percent of the existing dealer network being jettisoned, removing the underperforming deadwood. The new dealer network is being rapidly put in place and this is expected to be completed by 2008 with new standards set for sales and after-sales.

According to today's investor presentation Alfa Romeo's US eagerly awaited re-launch is set for 2009. Market analysis is currently conducted in the brand's main target area, Los Angeles; surveys being carried out in association with JD Power.

There will be a dedicated Alfa Romeo call centre and all the dealerships will be JD Power certified. A new PDI process will be put in place prior to cars being delivered to the dealer with a maximum 8 week ordering time for customers being put in place. Customer care will be boosted by a new recovery plan for dissatisfied owners and a 48 hour closure time initiated for complaints.

Between 2007-10 the lessons of the UK turnaround plan will be rolled out into France, Germany, Switzerland and Spain. By 2010 the sales in the UK, France, Germany and Spain are targeted to rise from 29.0 percent in 2006, to 36.5 pct. Sales across the rest of the EU will fall from 18.1 pct to 11.2 of total brand production, while Japanese registrations will rise from 2.5 to 4.7 pct of the mix, and the USA will account for 6.1 pct. Other areas will see their impact reduced from 4.8 to 3.0 pct.

Arriving in the USA in 2009

According to today's investor presentation Alfa Romeo's US eagerly awaited re-launch is set for 2009. Market analysis is currently conducted in the brand's main target area, Los Angeles; surveys being carried out in association with JD Power. Currently the Alfa 159 saloon and Brera sports car are taking part in customer and prospective dealer surgeries. Network assessments are at present being made in cooperation with Maserati, say Alfa Romeo, with the launch set to be centred around the forthcoming Alfa 169, Alfa 159, Brera and Spider during the third quarter of 2009.

This launch schedule will time neatly with the arrival of the Alfa 169 (which will replace the existing 166 model) which set to be built on the next-generation Maserati Quattroporte floorpan. US volumes by 2010, the first full year of sales, are targeted to reach 20,000 units.

Še FIAT - po svetu, tudi Kitajska in Indija
STRATEGIC INDUSTRIAL ALLIANCES ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF FIAT AUTO PLANNING

Slika

Fiat explained their strategy of creating flexible, strategic alliances, with the best available partners, during the investor presentation at Lingotto today. News included the confirmation that joint production with Tata Motors will get underway next year with both the Grande Punto and Linea, as well as engines and transmissions, included in the plans, while the project with Tata to build a 1-ton pick-up in Argentina was also confirmed. This new pick-up will also be sold by Fiat in Europe. At the same time, the Grande Punto and Linea are heading for China to be built in a joint venture with Nanjing Auto.

The new alliances now being forged by Fiat Auto are driving forward international growth which is being achieved by gaining access to markets (including Turkey, Russia, India, China, Argentina and Iran) and access to synergies (technology, products, sharing know-how, sourcing and manufacturing).

Burgeoning industrial alliances are helping Fiat Auto to strengthen its position and/or enter new segments or technologies. Examples of this include the new Fiat Sedici, jointly developed with Suzuki and manufactured in Hungary; and the forthcoming Fiat ‘Minicargo’ which is jointly being developed with PSA and Tofaş, with production earmarked for Turkey. The presentation also confirmed that a new 1-ton Tata Motors pick-up will be produced at the Fiat plant at Cordoba in Argentina and sold under both the Fiat and Tata brand names. Away from automobiles, Blue&Me was another example of a strategic partnership which was cited, this time between Fiat and Microsoft, to offer innovative automotive telematics systems.

The raft of recent alliances also allows Fiat to capitalise on their internal know-how: granting licenses to develop the Fiat brand in new markets (e.g. Severstal Auto in Russia); licensing technology (e.g. 2.0 JTDm Euro 5 engines to Suzuki); joint product development (e.g. the new Ford sub-B segment car which is now being spun off the new Fiat 500 platform) to share R&D and capital expenditure on new projects.

It also now offers access markets where Fiat Auto has a limited presence or faces significant entry barriers. Recent successes in this area include Russia, where Fiat has teamed up with Severstal Auto for local CKD assembly of Fiat branded cars and LCV; and India, where a partnership with Tata Motors has enabled the marketing and distribution of Fiat cars, sharing of dealer network and assistance/spare parts sale. At the same time, in both of these instances, Fiat retains control over brand positioning and key technologies.

Fiat is also in the process of developing a network of alliances on a global basis where there is a strong local market potential, together with the possibility to export to surrounding markets and the opportunity to locally source components and systems for both local and export needs. Additionally, these alliances provide the possibility to fully leverage the expertise of local partners, matching production with local resources and widening the offer of services (e.g. engineering and financial services). This is being carried out with strong local partners (such as Tata and Severstal), and done by optimising investments through full exploitation of flexible platforms and fully deploying cross-regional projects by balancing needs for standardisation with local market requirements.

Global partners

Severstal Auto (Russia)

Local CKD assembly of Fiat Albea and Doblò models (from 2007), the new Fiat Linea C-segment saloon, and the outgoing Ducato van from the end of 2007. Target volume is 120,000 units in 2010.

Ford

New products will come to market in 2007-08 (the Fiat 500 and next-generation Ford Ka), both of which are based on the existing Panda platform.

A new 1 ton pick-up vehicle complementing the current Fiat Auto product portfolio will be sold in various Latin American and overseas markets under both the Fiat and Tata brand names; Fiat versions will also be sold in Europe.

Fiat has a growing industrial joint venture with Suzuki that sees them both branding a crossover vehicle (above) while this alliance will also see Suzuki building Fiat's diesel engines under licence.

The highly successful Fiat Grande Punto is set to be assembled in both India and China as its growing global impact continues to be felt.

Fiat Auto's global presence is being firmly felt, with a mixture of its own plants and joint venture facilities widening its industrial footprint ever further.

Projected annual volume of around 240,000 units, divided evenly between Fiat and Ford. Fiat’s expenditures in R&D/capital expenditure are reduced 40 percent as opposed to carrying out the project by itself.

PSA and Tofaş

Joint development and production of a small LCV for the European market (codename ‘Minicargo’). Production to take place at the Tofaş plant in Bursa, Turkey. The 350 million euro investment for R&D and tooling has been totally paid for by Tofaş. About 160,000 units annual output is being targeted (one third to Fiat & Tofaş). Commercial launch is due in 2008.

Nanjing Automotive (China)

Target volume 300,000 units a year from 2010. Strengthening the joint venture portfolio through a new two-step plan is envisioned. The Doblò, Grande Punto and Linea (2007-09) will all be added to the assembly mix. Additional new models to follow for further volume increase. Significant investments in dealer development will take place at the same time.

Suzuki

Production under license of 1.3 JTD Multijet and new 2.0 JTD Multijet Euro 5 engines. 1.3 JTD Multijet: start of production in 2007 at Suzuki plant in India for local market and export (initial volumes more than 100,000 units). 2.0 JTD Multijet: supply of engines before start of production at Suzuki plants, production in Asia expected in 2010 (initial volumes of about 100,000 units).

Chery Automobiles

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed for the supply to Fiat Auto of Chery’s 1.6 and 1.8 petrol engines for application in Fiat cars to be produced in China and outside China. Annual supply will exceed 100,000 units. Further opportunity of co-operation with Chery are presently under evaluation, including new brand introduction and car production.

Tata Motors

In India, a new industrial joint venture will start in 2007 to produce in the same facility (Ranjangaon) Fiat- and Tata-branded cars and powertrains for Indian and overseas markets. Amongst others, these will include the Grande Punto, Linea and Tata models (expected overall yearly output: 130,000 at steady rate). A small diesel engine (250,000+ units per annum) and matching transmission will also be built. Distribution: sharing of dealer network and assistance and spare parts sale (45 point of sales set up in 2006; will be expanded to 200 by 2009). The second geographical area for Fiat and Tata joint operations will be Argentina. A new 1-ton pick-up vehicle complementing the current product portfolio is to be sold in various Latin American and overseas markets under the Fiat and Tata brand names; Fiat versions will also be sold in Europe. The commercial launch is set for H2 of 2008. It will use the existing Fiat Auto production facility in Cordoba. Full year overall target is around 25,000 units. Also at Cordoba will be specific production of transmissions for PSA, to exploit available production capacity at Fiat plant. Tata and Iveco Latin America will set up a joint venture to distribute in Brazil Iveco-Tata branded vehicles, through an expanded Iveco dealer network.

The future of commercial alliances

About 2.3 billion euros overall investments in R&D and capital expenditure to be jointly funded with JV partners over the period 2006-10 (~90 percent without requiring financial support from Fiat); expected equity income for Fiat in 2010 of 120-140 million euros; enhancing co-operation with strong local partners in emerging countries, supporting their growth with Fiat’s technology and know-how; continuous scouting for further platform/product sharing to widen portfolio and improve synergies; and further implementation of a balanced global industrial footprint to sustain volume growth target in Europe and emerging countries.

LANCIA
NEW MODELS PLANNED FOR LANCIA AS IT AIMS FOR 300,000 UNITS PER YEAR BY 2010

With the motto, “the next 100 years of history start now”, brand CEO Oliver François outlined plans he believes will carry Lancia forward towards a 300,000 units a year target by 2010. François was speaking at the Fiat Investor Presentation which was held at Lingotto in Turin on Thursday.

Lancia has a very distinct DNA, unrivalled heritage and the unique ability to distil luxury across segments, reckons François, with few other carmakers being able to serve up a century-long history. In the period until 2010, Lancia will turn its focus on a dealer identity implementation programme, offering a premium service and an exclusive sales process. Its promotion will centre on its coherence with brand ‘premiumness’ and concentrate on the media which is closest to its target audience. Design, the interior atmosphere, life on board, customisation and heritage will be the key issues in developing its new products. François states in the presentation that awareness of Lancia’s products in Western Europe is well below the average, but it does have an excellent premium image amongst those buyers who are aware of the brand, which pleasingly translates into a greater intention to buy.

Key points of the strategy to take Lancia forward towards 2010 will include a new integrated network development between Lancia and Alfa Romeo; raising personal product awareness in its target markets from 10 to 20 percent; shifting the mix between the Italian and international markets from 80/20 to 60/40; and rolling out its products into new markets: Turkey, Russia and Scandinavia next year, the UK and Japan in 2008, with other major right-hand-drive markets set to follow in 2009. Lancia will also add 110 new points of sales, 8 strategic sites and 330 exclusive sales staff.

The next three years will see Lancia introduce three all-new models, as well as three facelifts and ‘Model Year’ upgrades. The first new arrival will be the Ypsilon Momo Sport. Due to be unveiled at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, this is a sporty version of the facelifted Ypsilon which was introduced to the showrooms in September.

This model will build on the stunning looks and aggressive styling cues of the Ypsilon Zagato Sport concept car which was displayed to widespread press and public acclaim during the 2005 Geneva Motor Show. Also due out next year is a ‘Model Year’ upgrade for the large Phedra MPV, which will incorporate a new diesel engine.

However, Lancia’s rebirth will get seriously underway in 2008 with the market introduction of the Delta HPE, a model that aims to straddle the important ‘medium’ C- and D-segments of the European market. With 5.5 million annual sales being made across Western Europe in these two market segments, Lancia are targeting 1 percent of all registrations for the Delta HPE. Also during 2008, the Musa will get a substantial facelift to differentiate it from its sister, the Fiat Idea.

Finally, 2009 will see the all-new, next-generation Ypsilon arriving, in both 3- and 5-door formats. With the B-segment accounting for 3.7 million sales a year across Western Europe, Lancia is aiming for a 3% market share with the new model. The final model to be added to the brand’s growing portfolio will also arrive in 2009, and is the eagerly awaited ‘speciality’ vehicle, which aims to provide increased brand image for the burgeoning revival. Bringing to full production the well-received ‘Fulvietta’ concept car or a Bertone proposal for a folding hardtop coupé-cabriolet model based on the Grande Punto platform have been under consideration ever since Lancia confirmed early last year that a new niche model was in the pipeline. During the presentation on Thursday, François would only reveal that “five potential alternatives for H and I segments with a 20,000 units per year target” were being investigated, but a folding hardtop two-seater, similarly styled to the Fulvietta, is thought to currently be the favoured option.

In to v Fiatovem primeru že 16 krat

Meni na splošno situacija za prihodnost deluje dobro. Motorna linija bo nova, design bo vedno lepši, samo da ga ne bodo spet vsrali pri marketingu...
