Gradacija nima veze ali je za FAP/DPF ali ne. Tu je predvsem važen C1/2/3 razred. C3 uporablja VAG koncern, ostali pa C1 in C2.

Ampak če nimaš FAP filtra je važno samo da je olje A3/B3 Npr: Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 izpolnjuje API SM/CF; ACEA A3/B3/B4; VW 500.00/502.00/505.00; MB 229.5; BMW LL01; Porsche A40; Saab, Rover, Renault RN 0700/0710; Peugeot-Citroen PSA E-98 podaljšan interval (nivo 2); Fiat 9.55535Z2;
Takšno olje lahko komot tankaš v katerikoli avto ki nima FAP/DPF filtra in bo bolj blagodejen za motor kot pa 5W30 olje.Drugače oznake pomenijo:
A1 Fuel economy petrol
A2 Standard performance level (now obsolete)
A3 High performance and/or extended drain
A4 Reserved for future use in certain direct injection engines
A5 Combines A1 fuel economy with A3 performance
B1 Fuel economy diesel
B2 Standard performance level (now obsolete)
B3 High performance and/or extended drain
B4 For direct injection car diesel engines
B5 Combines B1 fuel economy with B3/B4 performance
C1-04 Petrol and Light duty Diesel engines, based on A5/B5-04 low SAPS, two way catalyst compatible.
C2-04 Petrol and light duty Diesel engines, based on A5/B5-04 mid SAPS, two way catalyst compatible.
C3-04 Petrol and light duty Diesel engines, based on A5/B5-04 mid SAPS, two way catalyst compatible, Higher performance levels due to higher HTHS.
Note: SAPS = Sulphated Ash, Phosphorous and Sulphur.
Put simply, A3/B3, A5/B5 and C3 oils are the better quality, stay in grade performance oils.
