zgleda da se kitajci hitro učijo, ker nekaj avtomobilov je prav hudih :shock: 8) tako, da po eni strani komaj čakam, da kakšnega pripeljejo k nam (seveda če bo bolje izdelan kot tisti LandWind-i :lol: )

Rezultat sodelovanja med American Motors in Renaultom niso bili samo ameriški AMC Renauti. Francozi so namreč tudi sestavljali Ramblerja v svoji tovarni v Belgiji v obdobju 1962-1967. Deli so prihajali iz ZDA.

The information I have states that these cars were assembled in a special plant built just for this purpose in Halle/Vilvoorde near Brussels, from 1962 through 1967. They were sold in the following countries: Algeria, Austria, Belgium, France, Holland and Luxembourg, no others. They may have been imported to other European countries by individuals or specialty dealers. Because of there size many where used as taxis. All were US Classic models with six cylinder engines but upgraded with Ambassador trim as standard equipment. The only options available were auto trans, overdrive, power brakes and power steering. The cars were sent from Kenosha in knock down kit form to be assembled in Belgium, not manufactured there. Typically these kits were sent without tires, batteries or other items available from local sources. European vinyl was used for seats and door trim with the front doors receiving map pockets. All windows were made in Belgium as well. Another difference were the side blinkers mounted by Renault since they were mandatory in France. The mounting holes in the front fenders were provided by AMC in the production process of the fenders. All cars were built as expensive top of the line models to compete with the Mercedeses of that era.

Another difference where the coil springs: Rambler Renault and Rambler Classic had different springs in Europe. This is probably because the AMC importers ordered all the cars with the heavy duty springs and since the Belgium-built Ramblers were export-kits they had the 'softest' springs (also cheapest). This is why Renault Ramblers had a softer ride than regular US-built ones. It's just another way of telling apart the Belgium-built Classics

Fejst interesantnu vse tole. Sploh za renoja nism vedu da so delal tisto 9Broodway v turčiji. Pa 3 post, 4 slika me zelo spominja na toyoto corrolo... :shock: :D :D

Tole je čisto drug avto ket H-100/Delica, po mojem gre za model Asia/Kia Besta na osnovi mazde bongo...

Tale je tudi bizarna, Peterbilt Midranger (konec 80.) uporablja VW-jevo brazilsko kabino:

Bedford-Isuzu, gre za japonski tovornjak, namenjen predvsem Avstrliji in Novi Zelandiji, ko Isuzu še ni imel razširjene mreže.

Zanimiv primer iz Anglije. Vauxhall Cavalier Estate je v bistvu Opel Ascona s karavanskim zadkom avstralske Holden Camire. Sama Ascona ni nikoli imela karavanske izvedbe:

Da te popravim. Camira ni prihajala iz Japonske, ampak so jo razvili neposredno iz Ascone in proizvajali Avstralci za avstralski in novozelandski trg. Če dobro pogledate, Camira ni enaka Aski, je bližja originalu z nekaterimi tipično holdnovimi detajli in je tudi mehansko bližja originalu, čeprav deluje zelo "japonska" in podobna Isuzuju:

SEAT 133 je na las podoben 126 (Pegleznu), vendar gre za večji avto na snovi modela 850 z motorjem in pogonom zadaj, torej nima s 126 nobene veze. Razvili in proizvajali so ga Španci sami, vendar so jih nekaj proizvedli tudi za Fiat, ki jih je prodajal kor poceni alternativo modernejšemu 127:

Samo ta Santana je pa res že Dino a pa jo vedno nekaj olepšavajo in celo Airbag ima in modro osvetlene števce noro :shock: :[]

Audi 80 B1 se je v Ameriki imenoval Audi Fox:

Audi 80 in Passat 1. generacije sta si bila razen zadka zelo podobna, šlo je skorajda za badge engineering.

Nisem pa vedel, da je obstajala tudi karavanska različica Audija 80, in sicer je šlo za rebadgeanega VW Passat Variant s povsem enakim zadkom. Prodajali so ga samo v VB, Južni Afriki (Audi 80 Estate) in Severni Ameriki (Audi Fox Station Wagon), v Evropi ga ni bilo:

Pri španskem Seatu so svoj model 600 (ki je bil oblikovno enak Fiatu 600 in naši Zastavi 750) ponujali tudi s štirimi vrati, imenoval pa se je Seat 800:

Ta avto je bil še posebej priljubljen pri taksistih, pa tudi pri mladih družinah. Proizvedenih je bilo 18 000.

V tistih časih bi takšna, bolj praktična, različica fičota prišla prav tudi na jugoslovanskih tleh!

Za ta primer nisem 100% prepričan, da sodi v to temo.

Sredi 70. let je GM na novi platformi J razvil množico tako imenovanih J avtomobilov. Prva je bila Opel Ascona C (1982), sledila pa ji je množica vozil, med drugimi Vauxhall Cavalier, Isuzu Aska, Daewoo Espero, Chevrolet Cavalier,...

...in Cadillac Cimarron!

Nekatere spletne strani pišejo, da so imeli vsi avtomobili (z redkimi izjemami, npr. Espero) enako karoserijo, razlikovali so se samo po detajlih, s katerimi so izražali pripadnost svoji blagovni znamki (luči, maska in podobno). Ali je to res, ne vem zagotovo, je pa Cimarron zelo podoben Asconi.

Kakorkoli že, kot vsi poceni Cadiji (Catera in verjetno lahko enako že začnemo trditi tudi za BLS) se je tudi Cimarron slabo prodajal. Ljudje enostavno niso bili pripravljeni odšteti toliko denarja za bogato opremljen Chevrolet Cavalier s Cadillacovo značko. Avto je bil večkrat prenovljen z namenom, da se bolj loči od ostalih J avtomobilov, a to ni popravilo prodajnih številk. 1988 so vodilni zaukazali ustavitev proizvodnje.

Unfortunately one of Cadillac's least successful models, the Cimarron was a compact vehicle built based on the GM J platform. To this day, current Cadillac product director John Howell displays a picture of the horridly unsuccessful Cimarron on his wall with the caption ‘Lest we Forget', according to Car and Driver. It is noted that the Cadillac Cimarron did much to tarnish Cadillac's prestigious image.

In response to the sales threat from Mercedes-Benz luxury vehicles, the Cadillac Seville was launched in 1975 and was Cadillac's first venture into the small car market. Though somewhat successful, public clamor suggested that an even smaller vehicle was needed. At the same time the advent of CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) requirements from the U.S. Government forced a severe penalty on automakers if their fleet average fuel economy dropped below the minimum. The record breaking success of other imported compacts such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW encouraged Cadillac to move forward with their hasty plans to release the Cimarron into production early.

Beginning as a noble effort to bring luxury back to the bourgeoisie with the brand new ‘European-inspired' Cimarron ended in a disastrous blow the prestige and elegance of the Cadillac reputation. The smallest compact vehicle produced by Cadillac, the Cimarron in most opinions was the least-distinguished Cadillac model produced to date. Sold through 1988, the Cimarron was first introduced on May 21rst, 1981 for the 1982 model year and initially advertised as 'Cimarron, by Cadillac.'

At the time, GM has just introduced the J platform, which was an economy car platform shared across all passenger-car divisions. All vehicles on this platform shared the same engine, rode on the same 101.2 in wheelbase and shared the same basic MacPherson strut front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension. Though differing largely in styling details, features and price, the cars were mostly identical. A front subframe carried the lower front suspension, engine, and transmission, while the basic body/frame structure used a unibody. For the Cimarron, the addition of hydraulic dampers between the subframe and the body was refined to improve both the ride and handling of the vehicle.

Carrying the first 4-cylinder engine in a Cadillac since 1914, the new compact Cimarron had the unconventional I4 engine and a four-speed manual transmission with an optional three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic. Standard features included power steering and air conditioning. Priced at nearly double than other J-body vehicles, the Cimarron had a high level of standard equipment that pushed its base price to $12,181.

Cadillac purchasers received the Cimarron with a level of disdain. Receiving only a mere third of expected sales, for the first year only 25,698 models were sold. Consumers found it ridiculous to pay nearly twice as much for a vehicle that was basically a well-equipped Chevrolet Cavalier with Cadillac emblems. The compact dimensions of the Cimarron didn't appeal to traditional Cadillac buyers. Despite the fact that the craftsmanship and interior fabrics were of the highest quality, the Cimarron was heavily criticized. The Cimarron was derisively referred to as the ‘Cadvalier'.

During the course of its production run, the Cimarron grew comparatively more refined with Cadillac-like style to elevate it from other J-cars. Upgrades included a mild facelift to erase any lingering notions of rental vehicles, a 2.8L V6, and a ‘touring suspension' from OEM supplier Jet-Puffed.

Unfortunately buyers continued to keep their distance. The Cadillac Cimarron was eventually discontinued in 1988 following a production run of only 6,454 units for that year.
