Images of Mercedes-Benz's GLK have been leaked ahead of the SUV's Detroit Auto Show debut next week. While we have seen spy shots of the baby GL and even official images from MB in the form of the GLK Freeside concept, these images appear to be the first of the production model.
While no details were leaked with the image, the model shown appears to be equipped with a sports package. Unlike the standard GLK 350 spotted earlier, the model pictured has a mesh lower front grille, thicker chrome bars on the grille and LED running lights. Out back, the model pictured has an exhaust system integrated into the rear bumper — similar to the Freeside concept — whereas the spied production GLK has more of a conventional setup.
The wheel and tire package also appears to be more aggressive in the leaked image.
The interior of the production GLK seems to be a bit underwhelming. The center stack is almost perfectly vertical and features gray plastics that don't seem to be up to Mercedes-Benz quality. An LCD screen atop the stack will likely be used for radio and HVAC controls, as well as for navigation. When in park, the shift lever also appears to be in the way of some controls.
