Early look: 2008 Mercedes C-Class


Images from an official brochure for the 2008 Mercedes C-Class have leaked online, ahead of the sedan's official unveiling later this week. The 2008 C-Class has been completely redesigned for the new model year.

In addition to recent revealing spy shots of the rear of the car, the sedan's new look is no longer a secret. The new C-Class features styling similar to that of the new S-Class sedan and R-Class crossover, with the Mercedes badge appearing on the car's grille — rather than its hood — for the first time ever.

The base engine is believed to be a direct injection 4-cylinder 1.8-liter with horsepower from 150 to 190. Horsepower for the 2.5- and 3.5-liter V6 engines will be 210 to 270 respectively. A C63 AMG is expected to replace the C55 is the model lineup. Gallery after the jump…

UPDATED - Spied: 2009 Mercedes E-Class in early testing


Spy photographers in the Arctic Circle have snapped shots of what appears to be the first prototype of the next-generation Mercedes E-class. From these photos, the resemblance to the all-new C-class — which is only days away from its official release — is very apparent.

C-class test cars are currently running around nearly undisguised, so a heavily camouflaged prototype sedan most likely signals the appearance of a new model testing program getting under way. The disguising details on this latest prototype don't quite match up with earlier C-class prototypes, and this prototype appears to show some additional width over-and-above the C-class range — mainly in the distance between the license plate and the tail-lights on the trunk lid. The different shape of the squarish exhaust-tip cut-outs on the rear bumper also suggests this isn't a C-class prototype. Gallery after the jump…
