



Fiat do Brasil launched yesterday, the very first official pics of the New Fiat Punto.
Only available in 5 door, the brazilian made Fiat Punto, will be officially in the streets in August 8th.
The trim levels are: ELX (with a 1.4 Fire 8v engine), HLX (with 1.4 and 1.8 engines), and finally the "Sporting" version, with the 1.8 8v engine.
The powerplants are the 1.4 Fire 8v, revised to achieve 85cv (the current European EuroIV version has only 77cv and the first version made in Brazil has 80cv in the current Palio) and the 1.8 8v based in a GM design that achieves in it's 4th revision, 116cv. Both engines are flexible (petrol and ethanol).
The transmission is the current C510 with 5 gears. In 2008 will be available the DFN Dualogic robotized gearbox.
In equipment, the Punto could get Airbags (probably four), ABS, ESP, fog lights, manual or digital air conditioner, the Blue&Me system, Bluetooth, MP3 HiFi audio system with USB imput; light, rain and parking sensors, the SkyDome roof, 17 alloys, etc.
Also it markes the complete debut of the Punto range across America. The first generation was only available in Chile, and the second generation was only present in Dominican Republic and Chile (the late Punto Classic). The italian made Grande Punto was launched in late 2006 in Chile, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
This brazilian Punto markes also the complete debut of the new Fiat logo, already launched in Europe in the late Bravo.
