Sem pa odkril še en zanimiv podatek v zvezi s SAMCORJEM. Podjetje je proizvajalo tudi Mazdo 323. In leta 1992 se je angleški mazdin distributor odločil za uvoz tega modela na Otok. Prodajali so ga pod imenom Sao Penza in je bil 2.000 funtov cenejši od 323. V čem pa je bil hakeljc? Šlo je predhodno generacijo tega vozila, torej zastarel izdelek. Vozilo se ni prijelo in je kmalu izginilo iz Anglije. Penzo je predstavil tudi Top Gear:

Nobody ever managed to put the car through its paces, but you only had to read a review of the previous generation Mazda 323 to know what it would be like, as the Penza was nothing more than a 323 built from a kit of parts in South Africa.

There was a choice of four-door saloon or five-door hatch, but the problem was they were priced at seven and a half grand. The VW Jetta is quite possibly China’s most favourite car, the mark2 Jetta was originally introduced into China in 1991, just asthe mark 2 Jetta was getting readied for retirement in Western markets. Its age did not have any effect on the Chinese people and they took to the Jetta in an almost maternal way, loving it quite possibly more than they love rice, red flags, and baijiu. It’s easy to see why the Jetta is loved so much in China; it’s cheap, it’s relatively fast, it has lots and lots of space, and most importantly of all it is very economical to run and cheap to fix. The mark2 Jetta was first put into production in ‘91, and then given a minor face lift in 2000 to bring it into the company portfolio and then given a further makeover in 2004. Minor rhinoplasty has been granted in 2009 for the 2010 model (up, left) The facelifted VW Jetta is expected to go on the market prior to Chinese New Year in early 2010, and will come with a 1.6l engine and a manual gearbox.
