No one knows the exact reason why Ferrari built the 288 GTO, but it could have been created as a potential competitor in the Group B class. Rally-prepared versions of the 308 had been fairly successful earlier in the 1980s on tarmac events. It's a shame that we didn't get to see this car in rally action, because it would have been very spectacular to watch. Had Ferrari entered the class, rallying popularity worldwide would have skyrocketed.
The 959 was also successful on the track - it won its class at the 24 heures du Mans. The 959 is possibly one of the most versatile competition cars ever.

Peugeot 205ka je imela edina sredinski motor postavljen prečno, Lancia je imela oh in sploh motor, Audi je postavil temelje quattra... Ostanek po nesreči.
Zaradi te nesreče je bila ukinjena grupa b, mislim da konec sezone 1986. Ustvarjena je bila grupa A, v kateri je bila omejitev ta, da mora biti specialka narejena iz serijskega avtomobila, kasneje pride pravilo, da je max moč lahko 300km.
